BoxTrapper - Whitelist - Stop Sending Verification Emails
Hi,
Is there a way to prevent BoxTrapper from sending Verification Emails? This might be okay for a person to person email, but if you are whitelisting a mailing list, or an auto email receipt from a retailer that you purchased something from, there's not going to be anyone at the other end to verify the email. If I whitelist something that I'm saying that it is safe so I don't need to verify it.
And just to verify, if you want to block someone you add their email address to the Ignore List and there isn't going to be any kind of confirmation email sent back, right? But if I want to have a confirmation/notice sent back to someone I block then I add their email address to the Blacklist?
Thank you for your help!

Hey there! The three options are the following: Whitelist " The system delivers messages directly to your inbox. Ignore list " The system deletes messages without a notification. Blacklist " The system deletes messages, and the sender receives a reply that indicates that the system blocked the message.
so I would expect an address added to the whitelist to not receive the verification message. If you're still experiencing that, could you submit a ticket to our team so we can take a look?0 -

Looks like if you whitelist an address then there isn't a verification message sent. But as soon as someone turns on BoxTrapper anyone that send them emails will get that verification notification. This will not work if the email is sent automatically by a retailer or a mailing list that you subscribe too, etc..., as there isn't someone at the other end to click the link and verify they are human. The Webmail user would have to spend a lot of time as soon as they turn on BoxTrapper to whitelist anyone and anything they can think of to avoid not receiving valid emails that aren't verified. So, it would be nice to have a feature to turn off the verification process. If you receive something that is spam then you can add them to the Ignore or Black List. It doesn't make sense to turn on BoxTrapper if it's going to require every single person or system that emails you to verify they are legit when many legit emails are not sent by a human. Let me know if I'm missing something here. Just learning how this all works. Thank you.0 -
No, that is the intended behavior of the BoxTrapper account. I wouldn't recommend using it for an account where you'll be getting those types of messages, as you're correct, no one will be able to respond to those verification prompts. 0 -

Okay, well I just found the "Review Queue" feature where you can review any emails waiting for verification, kinda like a Quarantine, then you can click the box next to any of the emails waiting for verification and then click Whitelist and Deliver. This would work for those valid emails sent from mailing lists etc... that don't have a human to click the verification link. Anyway, I think this actually resolves my issue even though you can't turn off the verification process if Boxtrapper is enabled you can work around it by going into the Review Queue then whitelist and deliver an email.0 -

Do you think this would be a good candidate for a feature request, an option to turn off BoxTrapper Whitelist Verification Notifications?0 -
