CentOS 7 migration to AlmaLinux 8 and cPanel version.
Hello,
I need to do a migration from CentOS 7 to AlmaLinux 8, my version of cPanel is 110.0.9 and here is my question - do I need to install exactly this version of cPanel (110.0.9) on the new machine or can I safely install the current one and transfer the settings and accounts?

To answer your question, cPanel recommends that both servers be on the same version. Having said that, we have transferred lots of accounts from lesser versions of cPanel to higher versions and not had issues. If you try to transfer the server config (things like Apache, MySQL, Exim settings) that "could" lead to problems and versions/settings might not line up correctly. cPanel has always been pretty backwards compatible with account restoration. 0 -
Hello, To be sure, I installed the same version (LTS) and will upgrade to the latest version after transferring accounts. Thanks for your help. - Peter. 0
