Blocked with the PostgreSQL version limitation
Hi there,
I'm under an Almalinux system and an user of Cpanel, and I'm aware of the rule :
"We only support versions of PostgreSQL that you install with the /usr/local/cpanel/scripts/installpostgres script."
But the version 9.6 is not longer supported for 2 years now. And I would like my clients to jump into a v14 or 15.
When are you going to make an update to upgrade into newer supported versions ?

Hey there! I've reached out to the database development team to see if I can get you more details, and I'll let you know as soon as I have more information! 0 -
Thank you so much cPRex, Waiting forward for your reply 0 -
At this time there is no additional development work planned for PostGreSQL. If you need a newer version installed, you can manually install and manage that outside of the cPanel system. 0 -
Hi @cPRex, No I can't. I'm an O2Switch customer and I migrated one of my customer there. The only issue is, we can't upgrade to newer version of POSTGRLSQL cause it's not available on your side. When I wrote to the support, they said they can't do anything because they are limited by the cpanel framework. So I just did many migrations from a hosting service to O2Switch (your client) and now, I'm stuck and can't upgrade my customers to the wanted PostGrlSQL version. Is there a chance to make this little upgrade ? It shouldn't be too complex to just allow new version of this, isn't it ? 0 -
Unfortunately no - we currently have no plans to provide support for a newer PostGreSQL version. I'm sorry I don't have better news on that! 0
