Exim configuration for WordPress using cPanel and WHM
I have set up a WordPress installation on a Compute Engine instance on Google Cloud. Trouble is, none of the emails from the Contact form are being delivered. The instance is running WHM and cPanel (latest versions).
Having a look around the www, it seems Exim is the way to go but I have no idea if it is configured properly or how to go about that
I am a developer, not a systems engineer, so struggling here! Where would I find a complete explanation of how to get this going?
Please assume I'm a total idiot with respect to this.
Which I am.
I have also discovered that port 25 is blocked by default on Compute Engine, and trying to work out how to overcome that is also a struggle!

Thank you for that is Exim likely to be configured correctly out of the box? It is difficult to know if it is running. Where might I find logs should it not be working? I am going to contact Google and ask them how to unblock that port: they mention it can be done. 0 -
Yes, Exim is configured by default on cPanel machines. If you're on Google, your port is blocked and that article will be the fix, or Google can remove that restriction for your server. 0 -
Yes, fortunately I have paid support. Really getting my money"s worth this month! 0
