After resetting cPanel, WordPress is not functioning properly.

    I think you can restart your web server (apache, litespeed, nginx) or even it may be cause by php_fpm if enabled. Try to restart each of them and see if it works.

    Many, many thanks. Can I do this alone, or must I knock the hosting company?

    If you have root access to the server, you can do this. Else, you just need to send the screenshot of your website to your hosting company and they'll fix it.

    Yes, you're absolutely right. The root directory is inaccessible to me. I emailed it to the hosting provider so that they could verify the fix without delay.
