Considering cPanel - various questions
Hi there!
I'm considerung cPanel as my first panel solution and I have a few questions, sorry in for that :)
I'm currently hosting multiple websites on multiple servers without a panel solution. The setup is the same for each server:
- Linode
- AlmaLinux 9.1 managed via command line
- LiteSpeed Web Server 6.1
- PHP 8.1
- multiple websites managed via native LiteSpeed admin panel & OS command line
- 'external' DNS (DNS Made Easy)
- secure system without me manually caring for each detail
- ability to backup individual websites/virtual hosts conveniently and automatically
- more conveniently setup the basics for new additional websites in the future
- see a drop in performance
- switch OS
- any involvement of Apache or nginx
- Is this 'generally' possible with cPanel?
- Can I use cPanel without any involvement of Apache or nginx?
- Can I continue to use my existing LiteSpeed licences?
- Can I use an external DNS without any issues?
- Honestly, what about performance of websites managed with cPanel vs no panel at all? I have pretty optimized setups, that's a really important to me.
- I guess there's no easy migration process, right?
- Any experience / best practise / known pitfalls for migrating from such setups to cPanel?
