I already tried to edit the /etc/cpupdate.conf file and restart but that fails.
CPANEL=lts
RPMUP=daily
SARULESUP=daily
STAGING_DIR=/usr/local/cpanel
UPDATES=daily

That message seems correct, not an error. V110 is the current LTS and you are on V114, so that's a downgrade. 0 -
ffeingol, I know the message is correct. That does not help with the problem. I made the changes to the conf file per a older post but that does not work so I set it back to what it was. The question is, Why is cPanel trying to "downgrade"? Is there anyone else with a constructive idea? This problem occurred before withe cpanel but that fix does not work with this version. 0 -

If you go to WHM -> Server Configuration -> Update Preferences what Release Tier is there selected?0 -

I figured it out quietFinn, well at least I think I did. For some reason, when we updated to AlmaLinux 8 the conf file stayed at CPANEL=lts. I went back and changed it to CPANEL=release. This seems to have solved the issue, at least for now ;) Thanks for the great question.0
