Elevation
So, it's almost time to pull the trigger and get "elevated".
Am wondering about other cPanel users' experiences with Alma vs Rocky.
Both distros are new, around the same age (March vs June 21 for initial release), and both claim to be 1:1 as far as a RHEL replacement goes.
Has anyone seen a reason *not* to use one as opposed to the other?
Am thinking if it's mostly apples to oranges, will go with Rocky. The only downside I see - and it's a tiny one - is that as opposed to Alma, Rorky is a for-profit company, but then again, so is RedHat (or BlueHat, or whatever one calls them now).
Leaning toward Rocky, the only reason I haven't done it yet is that when running with --check, grubby fails, producing a warning (am @ Linode, a 15 year old installation, no /boot/grub2 dir, just grub with a "splash.xpm.gz" instead of grub configuration files). I've got to get grub installed first, but that's a separate issue.
Thoughts?
