Are certs for 4th level subdomains necessary?

I have several subdomains created, like images.mydomain.com. And when I created them, cPanel automatically created A records with www; eg, www.images.mydomain.com And now I'm getting errors from AutoSSL because, obviously, www.images.mydomain.com), is it safe to just ignore these errors and let them go? Or is there a reason that cPanel automatically creates A records for them with www?
