New cPanel pricing end of 2022
cPanel increases again!? In the middle of a worldwide recession? Sorry, I'm finally done with this.
It's a nice touch that a new control panel features an actual complete cPanel installation and replacement (in place!) so this migration will be quick and simple.

I'll be gone soon. The only reason I haven't migrated my last cPanel servers to Virtualmin has been laziness. None of the clients care as long as I set up the aliases and redirects so they still work. Most of the last batch I moved over didn't even notice. 0 -
I got nothing out of the last big increase but decided to stay, I only have one server that's used for a personal weather station. at nearly $60, that's just crazy talk, my server only costs about "20 per month, with the $ close to the " now, that's nearly "60 GBP and i will not get anything out of the later updates so, nu uh, never gonna happen. I will be out before the end of the year 0 -

Prices go up again and we continue with improvements requested many years ago and that remain unattended. Improving the backup system, for example? On the other hand, for "non-virtual" servers we only have the option of the "SOLO" license or the one based on 100 accounts. Why don't they also add 30 or 50 accounts for non-virtual servers? Yes, we will definitely have to look for other alternatives. I almost forgot to mention that now we pay more for an ugly interface! . none of our clients are happy with "Jupiter" :rolleyes: 0 -

Woah, I wasn't aware of these, I think its time for a server reinstall, thanks for the heads up :) BTW, I have used Cpanel for my server since around 2001 i think it was, boy have they gone bad!!!0 -

It's not a horrid product. It's just that it costs more than four times as much as a competing product that does the job every bit as well. It's a matter of the value not being there anymore.0 -

Sorry, "bad" was a poor choice of word when referring to the cost, but then the style is bad, to use your word, its a horrid style :rolleyes: With the cost of living the way it is, its amazing how many are jumping on the bandwagon when there isn't any need, i can understand the price going up for cloud services due to overheads there, but for bare metal servers, no way should the price increase be anywhere near as much, its not Cpanel are hosting for us. I was seriously thinking about DirectAdmin before this increase was announced and on top of that, the GDP fell in the loo, which had already put my costs up for October alone, it may recover a little more but it wont be by much. And then we all get the latest price increase email :mad: Like i said, this is a personal server for my weather station, for the most part. So i earn "0.00 from it. Also i am on a low fixed income due to disability, so sadly, something has to give and its going to be this, it will be a shame as it a great product, just not that great and like i said, i gain diddly squat from the fandoogly updates they mention so i have no incentive to stay.... btw atm the price for me is at $58.270 -

And that's just considering a 120acc on it. if you have 200-300 or more, the % are higher because there were no per-acc cost before, and now it just goes up.0 -
Due to this continuous price hike, we reduced our servers to 25 from 220. Already cancelled more than 1000 licenses to 20 or 50 Licenses. Reseller NOC also cancelled. 0 -
Here another one ready to remove servers from cPanel, me and another 5 companies I Know. Do you remember when cpanel was with no accounts limits and cost was about 30$ per month on dedicated servers? They are doing the same with WHMCS... are destroying all... removing the lifetime licenses and increasing the price tons of dollars. Now my cpanel costs about a 300% more than on this happy days. I understand prices may grow up... but they are really crazy. 0 -
In this thread: "How can you raise prices, there's a recession going on, you're hurting my business" What they mean to say: "cPanel, please don't pay your employees more to compensate for the recession and the uptick in and continuous cries for higher wages so that my bottom dollar hosting can continue to provide me with profits" As an enterprise cPanel hosting seller, I fully support cPanel focusing on paying their staff better (they work their BUTTS off, esp. the staff in support who are basically sysadmins at customers' beck and call) and continuing to develop the product and platform. If by virtue of this there are less cheap providers using cPanel, so be it. If you don't like the value-for-dollar, use something else, however these continual gripes on the forums about pricing are getting booooring. 0 -
on Premium Metal is very high rise for resellers: 5$ (based on high $ rate it is very much money) The argument for a price increase is not what has been done, but what they are "planning" in 2023. By the end of the year it will be found that most of the plans will not go beyond the beta phase. As is the case with mail-node still unsuitable for production use. :wq 0 -
What they are doing and planning is effectively pricing themselves out of the race-to-zero hosting market. The amount of overhead that comes with being a sysadmin for everyone who knows what a VPS is but have almost ZERO sysadmin or Linux skills is immense. You'll notice that you don't really ever see ANYONE speak poorly about cPanel customer support and that is because they always go above and beyond. They will help you with pretty much anything you need or ask so long as 1) your server isn't infected/hacked 2) what you're asking is in their wheelhouse (and it's a pretty big wheel house) Take what you get from them and put a person(s) of their caliber on your staff 24/7 and let me know what that costs. I can assure you its WAAAAAAAY more than $5, $10, $50 per-month. Could cPanel keep costs lower by offering zero support by default (or some incidents) and then up charging the rest, sure, but then you end up with a product and community like SmarterTools where everyone gripes because interacting with customer service is an expensive chore and it tarnishes your name and brand. cPanel has chosen the correct path, customer service first, ALWAYS, which leaves your user base happy and removes the hurdles to pull issues in house to funnel to the development team to make the product better - even if that means new features don't come rapidly. It is certainly bitter sweet and unfortunate for many; however, from a brand viability and business perspective prices HAVE to go up... 0 -

Server problems that rise to the level of needing cPanel support shouldn't be something that occurs more than once or twice a year even on a busy server with hundreds of accounts. Otherwise you are doing something really exotic or need to up your skills. NOCs with hundreds of servers aren't opening cPanel tickets one-after-another.cPanel has chosen the correct path, customer service first, ALWAYS, which leaves your user base happy

Good morning guys - I'm really upset about the continuous increase of pricing. My dedicated server is costing my $74/month and I'm now paying and additional $60/month for cpanel! I'm looking at switching to a different management solution to test this out and will then happily migrate our 1500+ servers from cpanel as well. Can someone please recommend a cpanel alternative? I don't mind paying for it, as long as its within a reasonable price. Thanks, 0 -

Oh boy, this is just too expensive for something I can mostly do on my own, in fact I think cPanel makes things more confusing so I don't know what I'm paying for... Well, I woudn't have noticed if you didn't increase the prices so much, so I must thank you guys, time to put my hands on the linux. 0
