By default there should be a valid cert from Comodo/cPanel for the hostname if it resolves properly.  If you want to use your own cert, you'll need to generate a CSR and get that signed.  You can then install it via "Manage Service SSL Certificates" under Service Configuration.  Personally we have not done this for a long time as the Comodo/cPanel ones generally work fine.

Can you run the following and let us know the output?

    /usr/local/cpanel/bin/checkallsslcerts --verbose

Is there a troubleshooting document I can follow for when I am not getting a valid cert from Comodo/cPanel? Both my cPanel servers had valid TLS certs but around 60 days ago that changed and I noticed when I logged into WHM I was getting the not valid cert message in my browser.

For context I am referring to the host whm + cpanel server itself.

^^^ I would expect that command to tell us the reason why the SSL isn't being automatically issued for your system.
