With CSF (Firewall) active the port bandwidth (Mbps) drops drastically

Hello, I hope this topic is in the right section, if not, I apologize.

I have a VPS with Almalinux8.9, Cpanel and CSF installed and with a 600Mpbs port. I started experiencing speed issues with FTP uploads (because it limited data upload) and so to check the speeds from the server, for that I installed speedtest cli.

The results with CSF/LFD activated are (what should always be):

Idle Latency:   9.79 ms (jitter: 6.93ms, low: 2.03ms, high: 24.56ms) 
    Download:  50.82 Mbps (data used: 60.1 MB) 
              363.07 ms (jitter: 71.63ms, low: 40.45ms, high: 718.71ms) 
    Upload:    69.13 Mbps (data used: 56.3 MB) 
              275.46 ms (jitter: 66.22ms, low: 6.46ms, high: 787.30ms) 
Packet Loss: 0.0%

The results with CSF/LFD disabled are (what should always be):

Idle Latency:   0.72 ms (jitter: 0.74ms, low: 0.30ms, high: 1.62ms) 
    Download: 558.68 Mbps (data used: 395.4 MB) 
                9.56 ms (jitter: 3.18ms, low: 1.01ms, high: 87.33ms) 
     Upload: 570.64 Mbps (data used: 256.8 MB) 
             107.27 ms (jitter: 33.75ms, low: 2.26ms, high: 249.56ms) 
Packet Loss: 0.0%

 

I have tried reinstalling CSF and at first it works perfectly but after 1 or 2 minutes it limits the port again.
I have also tried several profiles, the one that comes by default, low or high security, but nothing works.
The truth is that I don't know what to do to solve this. Could someone help me?

PD: I have found the same behavior on another VPS in another location but with the same OS and CPanel version.

  Thanks for taking the time to check it out. I also have the same versions that you tell me about on the VPS, CSF (14.20). I see that in your case there are no problems.

  I have also tried it on my personal computer, making a virtual machine with a clean Almalinux8.6 (with virtualbox), I see that it also limits but in a different way.

  I was testing this in an OVH public cloud server, 2 vCores, 8 GB RAM, 500 Mbps public bandwidth, AlmaLinux 8.9, cPanel 116.0.6, and speedtest gives the same results when CSF is ON and OFF.

                   69.15 ms   (jitter: 9.34ms, low: 4.61ms, high: 116.79ms)
   Packet Loss:     0.0%

  CSF ON
  idle Latency:     4.78 ms   (jitter: 0.06ms, low: 4.72ms, high: 4.84ms)
      Download:   488.21 Mbps (data used: 238.4 MB)
                   73.42 ms   (jitter: 13.17ms, low: 4.81ms, high: 207.99ms)
        Upload:   488.34 Mbps (data used: 219.3 MB)
                   72.51 ms   (jitter: 18.47ms, low: 4.56ms, high: 209.30ms)
   Packet Loss: Not available.

  I've never heard of CSF limiting to this level, but this would be something to reach out to their team about at https://configserver.com/technical-support/ as this isn't a cPanel product.
