/tmp
/tmp cleanup
Hey all,
I have searched and read lots of things on how to properly clean up the /tmp directory. They all say different things.
My temp directory is 92 percent full
The tmp directory is 15 gigs big. How should I go about cleaning this up?
It looks like I have some .zip files and even a few .avi files???
Whats the best way to go about this?

Well at least you can delete the zip files and avi files. 0 -
Hello :) The following threads should be useful to you: Tmp is full Cron to clean /tmp Thank you. 0 -
I have read those, I am just a noob at this. What command should I run. It is now 100 percent full. -- So i manually deleted the files that looked likes this b881b40712c5e9091965785eb01075f0avi I saw a couple of them and they are each 1.5 gig big. So I think someone has a home video or something. Its with Owncloud, any ideas 0 -
That's the files being uploaded probably. If you do not see their size increase, you can delete them. Do not delete PHP session files (32 character filename, small files). 0 -
I recommend implementing the tmpwatch cron job that's mentioned in the threads referenced from my last reply. This will ensure files are removed from the /tmp partition automatically at set intervals. Thank you. 0 -
Thanks yea, I have tmp watch already enabled at the default 10 days. I will keep an eye on it and see what it does. 0
