Issue Configuring Exim
I am trying to setup the dedicated IP address for domains that have one to send mail from their site instead of the servers IP. I ran into some complications with this because after setting this up email was returning a 550 error" and it was not until I disabled "Allow DKIM verification for incoming messages" was I able to send mail.
Allow DKIM says it is looking for valid signatures in incoming mail. However I do not know what that signature is supposed to be because in my tests the email addresses used came from other accounts on the same server. So one question I have is if the signatures are not correct on the server how do I go about correcting that?
Because there is no reference saying that I need to disable DKIM verification I assume these will work together and I like what DKIM does for my clients and need to know what I must do to get these two parameters to play nice?

Thanks, here is what the server message read, email addresses have been changed to protect the innocent...;) The error that the other server returned was: 550 Administrative prohibition ----- Original message ----- DKIM-Signature: v=1; a=rsa-sha256; c=relaxed/relaxed; d=domain.com; s=google; h=from:references:in-reply-to:mime-version:thread-index:date :message-id:subject:to:content-type; bh=Ad9Xp6RQvuyO0iiUAcbaU8/04sMI7QTFP2FCQVo4ov8=; b=RnnQAZzOfGg4YM5Vw8SPFs4 Cz0IpjelpMSvmP6q2YBBPKqbHMjXkWesDhCy72Dc8l 3kz17KsdfQpO ewcchp7 KLE caYQmqs7AoM9/FLDPfsqLjTdoIkL6jEGcUq60nSsCwI g8fclCJEJ7wnHUiL9c6I1brwKu/pRE05WGFh4= X-Google-DKIM-Signature: v=1; a=rsa-sha256; c=relaxed/relaxed; d=1e100.net; s=20130820; h=x-gm-message-state:from:references:in-reply-to:mime-version :thread-index:date:message-id:subject:to:content-type; bh=Ad9Xp6RQvuyO0iiUAcbaU8/04sMI7QTFP2FCQVo4ov8=; b=KXp7ZmwB 2HNuLxGC9pAwCMSaldXbEDsp W7xuPGaDbQfXB/dizjXHjN1 DVqtqM5j Y VNWAgS7cJCVqXTAsEK3V xadLCo3NTnyWMplDsU6o6hVoiDEEJK85AdfoEQSDhmuWJ n0s2VTLeuI6ZxK4pQZgWabmfnEiXhu7647l5Imr6YUeRPLgE cn0bbq7mVGuXPCucE0X GfW4 xN9/ 2Q2nJJXvXmBjy5ikrW6UKLl5CYfyfOyRiIK2C0YFHdOBK6pyCDkKF4pv8g J6h5BglPIaBjFarKa XrLKZ i4 vAoaeRdcWgdbGGYakV0kH8ZrI1GIiUc0KFv3CuR0M ZOnQ== X-Gm-Message-State: ALoCoQkQuIwhElLHPi8xKV6DRTrIoYXAKVwPjudp/Wa6u2D5Fc/Ytdc neeSdAeY2KnYeM1cBdRE X-Received: by 10.204.167.140 with SMTP id q12mr25120214bky.2.1379367942119; Mon, 16 Sep 2013 14:45:42 -0700 (PDT) From: Kevin M References: <893C1EE84AB740F9BDEAEA6D7C1FA02C@UserPC> In-Reply-To: <893C1EE84AB740F9BDEAEA6D7C1FA02C@UserPC> MIME-Version: 1.0 X-Mailer: Microsoft Outlook 14.0 Thread-Index: AQF8StGQmrBUmc5ADnMBS0KPtmPkQwJF8cpKAz7KNKyaQZCncA== Date: Mon, 16 Sep 2013 14:45:42 -0700 Message-ID: <6733469f20d9d08e2853d0883ddf59b4@mail.gmail.com> Subject: RE: Whitelist Request for IP Address 69.175.74.61 To: Ed W Content-Type: text/plain; charset=UTF-80 -
Could you open a support ticket so we can take a closer look? It's possible you have some custom Exim configuration rules in place that are conflicting with the native DKIM support. You can open a ticket via: Submit A Ticket Post the ticket number here and we can update this thread with the outcome. Thank you. 0 -
Thank you, my support ticket number is #4348869 0 -
To update, the issue was in-fact related to a custom Exim configuration value. The following value was not required, but added to the Exim configuration file: acl_smtp_dkim = acl_smtp_dkim Removing it and restarting Exim resolved the issue. Thank you. 0 -
