Add A Entries for Nameservers & Hostname
I am in the process of setting up a new cPanel server, and step 4 of the initial setup always has me confused.
The last part of step 4 is the option to add A entries for the nameservers that I use and for the hostname. However,
* My primary nameserver is already running, and it obviously already has an A entry in its domain configuration. Why would I want to add it as an A record on this new server?
* Secondary name service is provided by domainsmadeeasy.com. Why would I want to create an A record for "ns5.domainsmadeeasy.com", for example, on this server?
* I have already setup an A record for the hostname of this cPanel server in the domain it belongs to. Why would I want to add this A record to this new server also?
I don't really understand the purpose of these records, so I'd appreciate if someone could clarify :-)

You don't want to, and you don't have to add or create anything in that step. I am installing & configuring cPanel servers quite often and I never click those buttons, I edit the dns zones by myself.0 -
Hello :) That is correct. The "A" records are not required if you already have them added on an remote name server. Thank you. 0
