Error installing SSL certificate onto site
Having problems installing a new SSL certificate onto one of our sites.
I've assigned a new IP address to the site and added it in WHM, I've changed the target website's IP to use that new address, and via normal HTTP that is working.
Via WHM I've generated a CSR and used that to purchase a certificate from RapidSSL, however when I try to install it via WHM's "Install an SSL Certificate on a Domain" onto the target site it reports that the certificate is not valid. When I try adding the Private Key copied from the original CSR output it reports the key is invalid, and when I add the Intermediate SSL certificate for RapidSSL into Certificate Authority Bundle it reports the CA bundle is invalid.
What is weird is that if I login to the cPanel account for that site and go into SSL/TLS Manager, and then Certificates, the SSL certificate is listed with the correct details. I can view it, but if I try to Install it I get the error saying the certificate is invalid. If I go into "Activate SSL on Your Web Site (HTTPS)" and click Browse Certificates I can see the certificate listed there (highlighted green), but if I click Use Certificate it fills in the boxes and again reports that everything is invalid.
Anyone have any suggestions how I resolve this and get the certificate working?
Thanks
Keith

Hello :) You can try generating a new CSR/Key, and then have an updated CRT regenerated by your SSL provider based on the new CSR. Most SSL issuers can accommodate that type of request. Thank you. 0 -
Looks like I've found the cause of the problem and it was that I was using IE 10. Contacted cPanel support yesterday and they were able to install the certificate without any problems. Tried just now via IE and I was still getting an error. When I logged in using Firefox instead I found there was slightly more information displayed on the page and it worked straight away installing the certificate without generating any errors. For an example of how the display is different on the "Activate SSL on Your Web Site" page under "Manage Installed SSL Hosts, in Firefox I see the currently installed certificate, while in IE it doesn't display anything other than saying "no records found". 0 -
Please reply to the ticket to report the issue with IE10. This will allow us to reproduce the problem and open an internal case if necessary. Also, you can post the ticket number here and we can update this thread with the outcome. Thank you. 0 -
Yep, already have. :-) The ticket number for it is 4358613. 0
