Server Main IP Problems

Hello, Since we switched servers about 2wks ago our new server's IP address has been causing allot of problems with being blacklisted which also causing major problems for our customers. We filled out all the necessary forms to have the IP de-listed last week which I would have thought by now it would have resolved and cleared the IP but still having issues with it. My question is if we get a new server main IP address assigned, then change it in the WHM >> Basic cPanel & WHM Setup do we need to any other changes/update, I.E. zone files, nameserver IP's assigned? We current have 6 public IP's assigned to our server along with the main server IP. I'm trying to get ahead of any other changes we'll need to do if you do change the server's main IP through our datacenter with Softlayer. thanks, Mike

    Is it possible through the Exim configuration Editor to designate 1 domain to send out their emails with it's own IP address instead of the server's main IP, then leaving all other domains on server to use the default server IP then ? Mike

    Yes, you can get exim to do that in WHM>>>>>Exim configuration Manager. The option is somewhere near the bottom of page.

    thanks for you help, found the configuration change. When you enable this option to use domain's unique assigned IP's does it automatically add them to the /etc/mail_reverse_dns file or do I need to add each domain's IP: domainname manually to the file that has their own IP address ?     Hello :) By default, Exim will send mail from the server's primary IP address. There is also an option in the Basic Exim Configuration Editor to send mail from IP addresses delegated to accounts with dedicated IPs. You only need to edit the file you referenced if you wish to manage the outgoing IP addresses manually. This is documented at: Changing the Sending IP for Outbound Email in Exim Thank you.

    Yes I've read that document but just wanted to clarify one point regarding that setting. In the Exim Configuration Manager there is that setting: Domains and IPs Send mail from account"s dedicated IP address [?] Automatically send outgoing mail from the account"s IP address instead of the main IP address. Warning: If you turn this setting on, make sure that reverse DNS entries match the ones in /etc/mail_reverse_dns.
    Currently it is disabled. Now if I enable this option does it automatically update the /etc/mail_reverse_dns file with the IP and domain name for each of the domains with their own assigned IP instead of using the main server IP? Or do I need to manually update the "mail_reverse_dns" my self? Also, the domains that use the shared main server IP to send emails, will that remain the same with this option enabled then ?     Hello :) Yes, the "/etc/mail_reverse_dns" file will populate automatically when enabling "Send mail from account"s dedicated IP address". You will simply need to ensure the actual RDNS entries are added by contacting your data center and requesting they add them. Domain names assigned to a shared IP address will continue to send email from the shared IP. Thank you.

    I have 1 more question about this Exim setup now. I enabled so outgoing emails are sent with the domains IP's seems to be working now. My question is if I add another account with their own IP address, instead of the shared IP, will their new IP be added to the mailips, mailhelo and mail_reverse_dns files automatically or do I need to add them manually to these files?     It will populate to that file automatically. You will only ever have to manually edit those files if you enable the following options: Reference /etc/mailhelo for outgoing SMTP HELO Reference /etc/mailips for outgoing SMTP connections Thank you.
