upload file using cpanel

hi guyz i m newbie tried hard to uplaod file using cpanel....but when i m putting my link in address bar i m getting Index of / cgi-bin/ instead of normal home page. i have downloaded free template wanna upload it and get it as home page instead of link like this.... plz plz plz help asap....

  Hello :) Please ensure you upload your website files to the public_html directory. You will need to ensure there is an index file so the directory index does not appear. Thank you.
