    Yes we know that, the question is why does this check gets logged in messages, if there are other things its checking why doesn't that get logged in the messages too?

    chkservd log file is in /var/log/chkservd.log You see those connection entries in /var/log/messages because pure-ftpd uses /var/log/messages for logging. If you check for ex. /var/log/exim_mainlog and /var/log/maillog you see similar connections from chkservd.
