manually adding an IPV6 address from a range?
I have a /112 of IPV6 addresses. CPanel has already assigned some of them for websites. I want to set something up so I have a dedicated IPV6 mail IP like I do for IPV4--particularly so I'm not trying to keep up with whichever IPV6 address Exim decides to grab in order to send mail. Is it possible to manually tell CPanel to bind an IP address within that /112 range to the server permanently, whether an account is using it or not? Or, alternatively, tell CPanel to assign it similar to what we can do with V4 addresses so I can make the appropriate DNS entries to make that possible? Any help here would be appreciated.

Hello :) It's important to keep in mind that support for IPv6 in cPanel version 11.40 is limited to Apache-served sites. Future versions will implement support for other services. That being said, Exim should be able to send out emails using an IPv6 address. However, it's not something that's been fully tested at this time. To clarify, are you reporting that the instructions at Changing the Sending IP for Outbound Email in Exim are not working for IPv6 addresses? If not, you may want to open a feature request for this at: Submit A Feature Request Thank you. 0
