Lowering backup count (Removing excess backups)
Ok, so I store 5 daily backups of my WHM server accounts, backups run once a week on Sunday.
However due to a few larger sites and storing a single offsite backup of another server I need to lower my retained backups to 3. I've changed the setting in Backup configuration in Whm to 3. However I'm aware they are still there in my /backup directory on the server.
Is there a clean way to delete the 2 extra backups I no longer need to store? Or am I safe to simply delete these via SSH?

Yes you can just delete them.0 -
Thank you. From 95% to 75% full disk. Now I can finally stop manually backing up and removing small sites. 0 -
Hello :) Yes, manually deleting the backup directories is acceptable here. Note that the directories would be removed automatically as well during the next backup generation. Thank you. 0
