IMAP Path Prefix
Is there any reason why the IMAP Path Prefix needs to be set to INBOX as opposed to the standard Dovecot blank path prefix?
I see this question's been raised before but no real answer given

Hello :) It's my understanding that this is related to compatibility with Courier and relation to the Webmail applications in the event someone switches the mail server on their system. Most modern email and Webmail applications automatically detect the INBOX prefix, and detect it as the "root" level.
