yum updates on base OS

Is it recommended to run yum updates on cpanel servers for other software/kernel updates or do you just let upcp update the control panel and related software and let the rest go? I am just curious what the best practices are? Eric

  Hello :) Yes, it's recommended that you update your system packages with YUM. You can complete this via: yum update
  This will ensure you are able to update your kernel and other system software not associated with cPanel. Thank you.
