How to track down email delivery?

Hello, I need to trace down email delivery for specific recipient, email was sent 2 days ago. I already tried Email Trace in mail section but it's not working. It just ask recipient email and run report then it shows single box saying: email@domain.com virtual_user to local delivery That's it. But it's not what i looking for. I need to get delivery proof containing infos like when email was sent and when it was delivered into inbox etc etc. Is there anyway to get deliver report of past emails? from specific sender to specific receiver? Please help. Thanks using hostgator hosting

  Hello :) You will need root access to the system to obtain that data. Your hosting provider can search /var/log/exim_mainlog for the specific message and provide the output to you. Thank you.

  Thank you for reply, that means we have to ask host to provide logs? then what is the use of email trace in cPanel? what does it do?
