Are you trying to install cPanel on a Dedicated server OR VPS?? These tutorials may help you: 1) [url=http://docs.cpanel.net/twiki/bin/view/AllDocumentation/InstallationGuide/WebHome]Installation Guides 2)

The cPanel installer automatically detects what type of server you have and installs the correct version. If you have a VPS, it will install the VPS Optimized version. This works very well. You do not need to worry about it. To prove to yourself that the cPanel installer detected the correct type of server, run this command (after cPanel is installed): # cat /var/cpanel/envtype
You will see "Accelerated" in the WebHost Manager if you have a trial license. That is always displayed if you have a trial license, no matter what type of server you have. When you purchase a VPS license, it will change to say "VPS Optimized." Again, it does not mean that the wrong version of cPanel was installed. It is just a string of text, and it is based only on the license. Run the above command after you install cPanel, and you will see that the cPanel installer automatically detected what type of server you have and installed the correct version of cPanel.

now use the [root@cpanel (~)]# cat /var/cpanel/envtype now work vps cpanel ..
All that command does, is it shows the contents of /var/cpanel/envtype. That is all it does - cat shows what is in a text file. It does not change anything. I apologize, but I do not understand what you are trying to say. The cat command would not have made anything work. All it does is put the contents of /var/cpanel/envtype on your display (and you did not give us the output of the command, which I asked for). I assure you that the cPanel installer automatically detects if you have a dedicated server or VPS, and installs the correct version. The only reason you would see "Accelerated" instead of "Optimized" is if you still have a test license in effect. This is beyond the scope of what we can do in the forum without looking at the server ourselves. If cPanel still says "Accelerated" instead of "VPS Optimized", please submit a ticket so that we can look at your server directly. Please mention this thread in the ticket when you submit it.

Did you submit a ticket about this? If so, can you provide the ticket number so I can follow up on it?
