WHM/cPanel closing my rails server

I have read a fair bit of documentation and done a few google searches, it has been over a week and I cannot seem to work this out. I am running a rails server which works fine for about 20 hours after which it is mysteriously shut down. Rails server on screen using following command: rails s -p 80
I have killed the httpd process and ended the chkservd process (which was periodically closing my rails server). As previously mentioned the rails server works fine for about a day before which it ends. The RoR error log:

What's listening on port 80 then? try "lsof -i :80"

Hello :) Could you elaborate a little more on why you are killing the Apache and Chkservd processes? Are they interfering with your Rails implementation in some way? Thank you.
