Clean Backups Plug-in not working anymore, anyone have same problem?
Usually my backups file are deleted automatically by Clean Backups Plug-in [url=http://www.ndchost.com/cpanel-whm/plugins/cleanbackups/]NDCHost - Clean Backups plug-in for cPanel/WHM
but looks like since about few days/week ago not working anymore, my backup Disk usage are above 90% now, usually its only 20-50%
maybe this is since latest whm/cpanel update, Clean Backups Plug-in not working anymore
firstly i got this error message in Clean Backups Plug-in page :
[QUOTE]HTTP error 401
cgi/addon_cleanbackups.cgi
i got the solution by add this line permit_unregistered_apps_as_root=1 in /var/cpanel/cpanel.config the page is already opened, but the plugin looks like still not working like i tell above, no backups file detected or cleaned Nb. already tried uninstall & intall again, and change some of the plugin settings, still same

You could try this plugin from cplicensing which does the same; [url=http://www.cplicensing.net/addons/cleanbackups/]Clean Backups cPanel/WHM plugin 0 -
Hello :) I wanted to point out that the value you modified in /var/cpanel/cpanel.config is equivalent to this option under the "Security" tab in "WHM Home " Server Configuration " Tweak Settings": "Allow apps that have not registered with AppConfig to be run when logged in as root or a reseller with the "all" ACL in WHM" This option was introduced in cPanel 11.38.1 to provide additional visibility of installed apps and addons and the privilege level at which they are installed. This forces apps and addons to register with AppConfig before WHM will execute them when logged in as root or a reseller with the "all" ACL. Thank you. 0 -

wow cant believed no solution anyone? so how do you delete old backups if not using this plugin then? 0 -
Old backups are removed by the system according to your Scheduling and Retention settings in Backup Configuration. Backup Configuration - cPanel Documentation 0 -

i already read [url=http://docs.cpanel.net/twiki/bin/vief/AllDocumentation/WHMDocs/BackupConfiguration#Scheduling%20and%20Retention]Backup Configuration but still cant find which lines do you mean so old backups deleted, can you quote the lines here please? i check in my whm > Legacy Backup Configuration > all check listed in 'Backup Retention' and 'Days to Run Backup'0 -
[QUOTE]i check in my whm > Legacy Backup Configuration...
Time to move on to the new Backup system then. ;) [QUOTE]Enter the number of daily backups to keep in the Retain daily backups field. This may be any number between 1 and 9999.0 -

ah so 'Legacy Backup Configuration' is old backup system, and 'Backup Configuration' is new backup system that already can deleted automatically thank you then0 -
Yeap, those plugins served a purpose for those that needed them previously. 0 -
The problem is: When an account is terminated, it's latest backup is stored indefinitely. This has nothing to to with the "Scheduling and Retention" settings. NDCHost backup cleaning script is not working with the cPanel's after activating the new backup system, at least with the incremental setup. Is there a way to automatically delete backups from terminated accounts after a stated time? 0 -
Backups should not remain indefinitely with the new backup system. The entire date-based directories should be removed when it's retention period is over. Have you been able to reproduce the date-based directories in your backup location remaining longer than expected? Thank you. 0 -

I can confirm that this is not the case. Backups for terminated accounts remain indefinitely in the backup drive. This is using the new backup system, and incremental backups. You can recognize them because the owner is a number instead of a user name. How can we delete them? Is this going to be corrected?0 -
Please vote and add your input to the existing feature request for this at: [url=http://features.cpanel.net/responses/remove-backups-of-terminated-accounts]Remove backups of terminated accounts | cPanel Feature Requests Internal case 39357 is open for this, but more votes and feedback is needed on this feature request. Thank you. 0 -
Thanks Michael, I've just done so. In the meantime, I'm sure there's a command that could be run to delete old backups? Any pointers? 0 -
There is no script that will automatically purge backups for terminated accounts, but you can use "rm" to manually remove the old archives/directories. Thank you. 0 -
I know, I was asking for some specific command that would find them. :) 0
