"The update server is currently updating its files. It may take up to 30 minutes... " been forever

I'm using WHM 11.40.0 (build 26), and this morning I want to use EasyApache for a reason. But when I clicked on 'EasyApache (Apache Update)' link, I saw this message The update server is currently updating its files. It may take up to 30 minutes before access can be obtained. Waiting 30 seconds for access to the update server...... Checking again....
keep showing on and on and on (keep appending each certain time -- 30 seconds) until it makes a very long list saying just that. And now it's been more than four hours.... I've read [LIST]
  • but seems that it's not the case. Anyone has any ideas? What should I do? Should I wait, or do something? As a note, I did restart Apache but problem still there. Any help appreciated. Regards, Yoachan

I don't know how long it goes... seems like forever to me. I had checked /usr/local/cpanel/logs/easy/apache/ and currently it only shows two files, which is build.1387333779 and build.1387333779.env with time stamp few minutes ago (probably at time when I opened EasyApache). Previously, I have (around) 8 files with numerous number. Does that mean anything?

" been forev Update: (separate topics) Finally I runs EasyApache to downgrade my PHP (to 5.3.x) and install TomCat. Now it's been two hours, and the last command on my WHM is Downloading '/var/cpanel/perl/easy/Cpanel/Easy/EAccelerator.pm.tar.gz'
      and messages shown in output box are If the browser window is closed or stopped the build will continue in the background. The build output should start shortly...       As I said earlier, that last line stays for two hours and seems stop updating. I suppose EasyApache finishes much more quicker than hours... When I do php -v, it tells me that php already been downgraded (used to be PHP 5.4). # php -v PHP 5.3.28 (cli) (built: Dec 18 2013 10:03:11) Copyright (c) 1997-2013 The PHP Group
      So, what took EA so so so long to complete? Is there something wrong with my machine? It's a new machine so nothing actually runs here. But when the machine becomes a live production server, I can't afford this much time to do a simple PHP/Apache/TomCat update/upgrade/downgrade which I can do literally 5 minutes doin it manually... Then i do # ps aux | grep easyapache
      and it shows nothing. Just then I realised that EA seems completed and output window stopped on it's own. So I reopen Home " Software " EasyApache (Apache Update)
      it shows Easy::Apache v3.22.25 page, so it seems that EA really finishes it's job. Phew....

      Try running "yum update" manually and checking to see if it completes or if there are any issues with your system package manager. Thank you.

      Re: "The update server is currently updating its files. It may take up to 30 minutes... " been forev cPanelMichael: Yes, it completes nicely. In my case it asks to update to kernel 2.6.32-431.1.2.0.1.el6, which I dare not to approve. I just too paranoid to do kernel update. :)
