"Main" email account
Hello :)
I recently changed providers and am not used to using cpanel
My current host is using Cpanel 11.40.0
The problem I am having is with the Main account that is the same name as the user to log into cpanel
I have searched and see that others have issues with this also
How do I either get rid of that user or automatically delete all messages that go to that account?
Am currently having an issue where someone tried to use one of my domain mail servers as a relay and now have 300k failure messages just in the main account

I think I have a filter working now to delete all of the failure messages coming in so that should help I understand that there is a reason for having that account but why not have a way to set a quota on it like the other accounts? 0 -
The docs on this might be helpful to you: Default Address - cPanel Documentation Preferred: [QUOTE]Select one of the following options: Discard with error to sender Sends an error message to the sender when an email is sent to this address. After you select this option, enter an error message that will be emailed to the sender.
Failure Message: No such person at this address This might also be helpful: [url=http://www.configserver.com/free/fail.html]Why you should use :fail:0 -
Hello :) Yes, the "Default Address" option is where you configure what happens to email sent to the default username of the account, as InfoPro mentioned in the previous post. The existing emails for the default account are stored in: /home/$username/mail/cur Feel free to remove them via the command line if necessary. Thank you. 0
