easyapache updates

Is it ok to do an easyapache update between php versions when you have live mysql sites or is it better to close them before an update?

  Hello :) Most administrators do not close their websites during an EasyApache update. The duration of downtime when Apache restarts is typically quite small, so closing a website is not really necessary. Thank you.
