/usr being close to capacity

Hi all, I have a server thats been running for a few years, the /usr partition usually sits at about 76%. I received an email last night that it had jumped to 92% but this was only for a few mins then it went back to 76%. Does anyone have any idea what may have caused the jump in disk usage, my domlogs/apahe etc are all very small. Could it be some cPanel process? If for some reason it did ever get to 100%, what would happen to cPanel? Would the sites and everything still work? Cheers

  Hello :) cPanel/WHM would not function properly until the usage was reduced below 100%. It's difficult to guess what exactly caused the temporary increase in disk space usage. The best way to determine this would be to utilize the "du" command when you see it actively at 92%.   Thanks Michael, it was at 92% only for a few mins from what I can see. As it occurred during the night when I logged in the next morning it was back to 76% It would be good to have usage by directory included in that email that's generated when a partition goes over the threshold. It would help identify the issue. Cheers

  Hello, Feel free to create a Feature Request for that. Our developers love feature requests and if a particular feature gets enough votes then it will more than likely be included in a future release.
