    Hello :) Yes, but you should use SFTP or SCP to download the files to your local machine. FileZilla is one third-party desktop FTP client with support for SFTP if that's how you prefer to download the files. Thank you.

    Do you know how I would go about setting up the FTP account on the server so I could access the files?

    You can use the "root" account if you are downloading the archives via SFTP. Keep in mind that SFTP is not the same thing as FTP. It's essentially FTP over SSH so the same login considerations for SSH apply to SFTP (E.g. key authentication, port). You must configure your FTP client to use SFTP if you are using an OS such as Windows and not the command line on an OS like OSX or Linux. Thank you.
