Backup error on .HttpRequest directory

I'm getting an error on cPanel backups: /home/xxxxxxxx/.HttpRequest: Unable to open directory: Permission denied at /usr/local/cpanel/scripts/pkgacct line 1799. The directory is owned by root:wheel and has 700 permissions. It looks like it contains a SSL private key, which explains the permissions. Any suggestions on the best way to resolve this?

  There should not be any SSL keys in that directory. In our servers I see a file named httpupdate.cpanel.net in those directories. Owner and group of that directory should be that account's username, permissions 700.
