Clam AV fails to find the 5 virses within email attachments

Yesterday downloaded a compressed archive of my user account which I saved to my PC. Norton Internet Security went crazy because it detected 5 trojans within the archive. It looks like they were sent as part of an email attachment. I regularly scan my Mail and Webspace with ClamAV for viruses and it can detect the EICAR test virus successfully, but not it seems trojans! I have cPanel updates set automatically so I am assuming that ClamAV gets updated automatically. Is there a better method of scanning incoming mail?

  Although the scan did not work, there is a setting to scan incoming and outgoing mail: Home " Service Configuration " Exim Configuration Manager Scan messages for malware from authenticated senders (exiscan). Scan outgoing messages for malware

  Hello :) You are welcome to enable those additional options. Note that while ClamAV is designed to find viruses, it's possible that it will not find every virus. It's important to have protections against viruses on local machines that download attachments. Thank you.
