Uploading to cPanel
Hi,
I have transferred my domain from name cheap to hostgator. I am trying to upload an already made subdomain to my parked domain via file manager. When I try the site domain/golfswing all I get is an index. The steps I used go as followed - download subdomain as zip - create new folder (golfswing) in file manager - upload file - extract and refresh. If anyone could shed some light on this I would be very grateful. Thanks

Hello :) Make sure an index file (e.g. index.html, index.php) is uploaded to the subdirectory if you want to prevent the directory listing from appearing. Thank you. 0 -
Thanks for the info Michael, I am not quite sure how to do that, does this have anything to do with propagation time? Thanks 0 -
You simply name the page that you want to appear first with "index". Thus, if it's an HTML page, you would name it index.html. You can do this before uploading it. Note that you may want to consult directly with your web hosting company to see if they have any tools or guides to help you get started making/uploading your website. Thank you. 0
