/usr space - Deleting files in src directory

I need to make a small amount of space in my /usr directory. I've already moved all the logs and anything I can find information on that's safe to move or remove. Is it also safe to remove old kernel downloads from the src folder? /usr/src/kernels/2.6.18-128.1.1.el5-i686 and /usr/src/kernels/2.6.18-371.3.1.el5-i686 The latest one is /usr/src/kernels/2.6.18-371.4.1.el5-i686.

  Hello :) You may want to uninstall the old kernels first using the instructions here: Clean Boot Partition Once you have uninstalled the old kernels, verified the new kernel is running well and you do not require the old kernels, then you can carefully remove the files for the old kernels in /usr/src/kernels. Thank you.

  That sounds a little risky. I don't think I'd feel safe doing that. I only really need to free up just over 0.02mb to be able to upgrade cpanel. Although ideally a bit more than that to leave some breathing room. What is safe unused or safe to move other than the log files (which are already moved) that will give me a few mbs extra?

  You could remove older Apache backup archives if they exist in: /usr/local/apache.backup_archive However, in general, the best advice is to reinstall the OS with an updated partition scheme. Thank you.
