rsync to 2nd HDD as a backup

Hi all, Just after some advise. In my server I have 2 HDD's I've created the same partition structure on HDD2 as HDD1. HDD1 mounted as sda HDD2 mounted as sdb The partitions are rsync'ed nightly. If HDD1 ever has any issues, would I be able to simply mount HDD2 as sda and bring up the server without any issues? Can anyone see any reasons why this may not work? Cheers

  Hello :) Yes, assuming it's an exact replication of the data (including permissions and ownership values), I don't see any reason why it would fail to boot as intended. Thank you.
