Is it possible to lock the file : /etc/mailips
Hello,
We are using a custom IP for our mail server that we have defined in /etc/mailips.
* : CUSTOM IP
The problem is that each time we move a website to a dedicated IP and or possibly to each cPanel updates, the files is generated again ?
How can we safely override any changes to happen to this file ?

I know it's not idea, but we just chattr the file to keep it from being regenerated. [Removed - setting /etc/mailips to immutable can result in several problems, including failed account creation attempts] 0 -
Hello :) Please ensure you disable "Send mail from account"s dedicated IP address" under "Domains and IPs" in "WHM Home " Service Configuration " Exim Configuration Manager". Per documentation, disabling this option will allow you to manually manage the files. If this option is selected, /usr/local/cpanel/scripts/updateuserdomains will be used to automatically populate /etc/mailhelo and /etc/mailips, overriding your changes. Thank you. 0
