Granting access to another users mailbox

Hello all, I have had a request come from one of our users asking whether its possible to give another user access to a mailbox without having to set up multiple email accounts (some people send out as the mailbox where others just need to be able to view it for administration reasons) and it got me wondering whether it is technically possible? I have run a couple of tests on our server by creating a dummy email account and then creating a symlink from my email directory on the server to the dummy account. From this I can see all the emails that are in the inbox however I cannot see any of the other sub-folder's such as the sent folder etc. One thing I did notice however would be that if I create a subfolder from my own account into their directory it creates it under my user on the server not that of the target user. Hopefully this makes sense but in effect I am trying to create something similar to exchange in that you can grant user access to mailboxes and public folders. Thank you in advance

    Hello :) There are no native features with cPanel/WHM that would allow you to assign multiple owners to an individual email account. You are welcome to try to implement a manual workaround or open a feature request via: Submit A Feature Request Thank you.

    Hello Michael, Thank you for that, I thought it may have been the case after not finding a lot of information on the topic online. In our instance we are using Dovecot to act as the mailserver and have found some information on their website about using symlinks as a workaround; "With Maildir++ layout it's not possible to automatically share "mailbox and its children". You'll need to symlink each mailbox separately. With v1.1+ you could do this by using "fs" layout for mailboxes (requires converting existing maildirs from Maildir++). " As far as achieving a true shared mailbox, apparently it is possible but I would have to read up on it as to how it could actually be achieved as I have only been working with Centos and WHM/Cpanel for a fairly short amount of time.
