Disable MySQL acces to cPanel username, Possible ?
Hi cPanel user, support,
We have a lot beginners cPanel users who use cPanel username for connecting CMS like Joomla/WordPress... to access database and not MySQL (sub)user; It's really bad to make it !
Is-it possible to disable MySQL access for cPanel account ? I think this access must be able for PHPmyAdmin in cPanel part, but somebody have a trick for do this ? :-)
Best regards.

Hello :) You can change the password for the MySQL username via: "WHM Home " SQL Services " Change MySQL User Password" However, you may want to open a feature request for the inclusion of an option to disable/modify the default MySQL username created with new accounts: Submit A Feature Request Thank you. 0 -
This actually does raise a really good point, it's a pretty bad security risk when people use their cPanel username/password for a plain text db config file. Changing the cPanel users MySQL password to differ from the cPanel password should work as a workaround, as mentioned by Michael. 0
