Upgrading Mysql from 5.5 to 5.6
Has anyone successfully upgraded from 5.5 to 5.6?
When I try to run the upgrade, it says:
[QUOTE]Beginning MySQL upgrade...
Detected a version mismatch between configured and current MySQL versions.
This probably indicates a previously failed upgrade. The upgrade process
will start at the newer of the two versions.
Running: /usr/local/cpanel/scripts/check_cpanel_rpms --targets=MySQL50,MySQL51,MySQL55,MySQL56 --fix
MySQL upgrade completed successfully
------------------------------------
Checking for Ruby update...
No Ruby update required.
The next step says: [quote]Checking to see if Ruby MySQL gem needs to be recompiled. No rebuild is required at this time.
I go through the easyapache process, but afterwards, it says [quote] WARNING: The last run of the MySQL upgrade wizard was not completed. It is highly recommended that you resume your previous upgrade rather than beginning a new one. Current step number 5 Starting MySQL version 5.5 Selected MySQL version 5.6
Any ideas? heh

Try running this manually and see what happens: /usr/local/cpanel/scripts/check_cpanel_rpms --fix 0 -
Thanks Vanessa, yes that's the first thing I Tried :( Sadly it had no effect heh. It just sits there for about 10 seconds, then goes back to the ssh prompt Re running mysql upgrade comes up with the same messages again. 0 -

I actually fixed it about 30 mins ago. Forced through: /var/cpanel/rpm.versions.d/local.versions 0 -
Yea, apparently I had 3 different mysql versions listed in that very file. Issue was fixed VERY quickly by Ken Folse Thanks Ken! Request Id 4649291 0 -
I've just experienced the same thing, but have not been able to resolve it through the suggestions made here. Logged a support ticket to see what the outcome is, but had to resort to a full server restore in the meantime to get sites back up and running as MySQL failed to start when the upgrade failed. 0 -
