Unable to log into webmail and cpanel

We have a number of VPS servers and we can log into webmail or cpanel by simply pointing the browser to mydomain.com/webmail or mydomain.com/cpanel. On a recently installed new VPS we get an error in chrome browser which reads in part ' This is probably not the site you are looking for. You attempted to reach mydomain.com but you actually reached a server identifying itself as newVPS.server.com. We can log into boyth services by either the IP of the server or directly via the server name e.g. https://newvps.server.com/webmail. Any clues, I have exhausted what little knowledge I have. Thanks X

    Hello :) It's normal to see a SSL certificate for the hostname of the server. It's what configured by default for the cPanel/WHM/Webmail service via: "WHM Home " Service Configuration " Manage Service SSL Certificates" You can modify the redirection settings under the "Redirection" tab in "WHM Home " Server Configuration " Tweak Settings" so that access requests are redirected to the hostname or SSL certificate name by default.
