The 'from' user is determined by the script sending the email. Are these emails coming from an application, or the server itself (such as an alert from cpanel ,etc)

Hi Vanessa, Should we need to restrict users to send emails using root with scripts? If it should be restricted, how can we do this? What is recommendation? Thanks for your help

Hello :) Ideally, you should setup a script to use SMTP authentication as the individual email account when sending out email. Thank you.

Thank you for your response. The email is being sent from an application and I am assured by the developer that this is not a script issue as the same routine "sendmail" is used for all the application dispatched emails. Is "root" used as a default description ? This is an example of what I am seeing: Root User rather than say Admin Thank you for any help in assisting my understanding of this issue, Patrick
