Difrence between Dedicated and VPS License
Hey,
what is the diffrence between this two licenses ?
I know the VPS License is a License for a Virtual Server right ?
But - correct me if i`m wrong - I can use a VPS License for my Rootserver ?

You cannot use a VPS license on a physical (non-virtual) server. VPS licenses are typically cheaper, in which case, it wouldn't make sense for cPanel to allow you to install it on a physical server, would it? 0 -

Yeah i know. I already have a dedicated license. But how can cpanel know it`s a virtual or dedicated server ?0 -
Virtualized servers have properties specific to the hypervisor that runs them. cPanel checks for these properties to determine whether the server is a VM or not. For example, VZ (openVZ, Virtuozzo) names its filesystem differently and puts special files in /proc (as does Xen). KVM displays the CPUs differently. I'm not sure that any of us know the exact criteria that cPanel uses to determine whether a server is a VM or not, and that's probably intentional. 0 -
Ah okay :) One more question, maybe u can help me. I`m new to CP: How can i add a new client / website owner with a website ? 0 -
Please open a new thread for different topics :) You can only have one login per cPanel account. If you have WHM/Reseller access you can put each website under its own cPanel. Otherwise, you can set up FTP accounts for your different domains under the same cPanel. 0 -
Hello :) I recommend reviewing the documentation for Web Host Manager if it's your first time using it. It's very helpful, especially for new users: WHM Documentation Thank you. 0
