Hello, Are you getting any error while sending the mails ? OR please contact your server administrator and ask them to check the logs of your mail

Do you mean for the domain the email is addressed to? The TLD for the server's domain, or for the server's hostname? Meaning, if the email is addressed to tom@thisdomain.com, and the server's hostname is server1.xxx.com Are you suggesting I look at the MX record for thisdomain.com, xxx.com, or server1.xxx.com ? I did find the MX record for the servers hostname (server1.xxx.com) was missing, and added it. I do not know if this will allow the email yet.

No problems sending emails... I am the admin of this server. (or I would not have access to exim_mainlog)

Hello :) Do you have access to the server that sent you the email? If not, you would have to contact the administrator of that server and have them review their email logs to determine if the message was sent out successfully. Also, check /var/log/exim_rejectlog to see if your server rejected the email. Thank you.

Thanks, but I think we have our mystery solved. Or at least part of it. The server supposedly sending the email isn't connecting at all, so that is still being looked into. (trying to get invoices from my datacenter they swear are being sent from their software, but I swear they have never hit my SMTP server) The one making the records in the SMTP log are from the same company (which caused the confusion) but are just from a monitoring box watching to see if SMTP is running. So THIS part of the puzzle is now solved.
