Trusted SSL for shared SSL
I'm probably making this WAY more difficult than it needs to be for my needs but here it goes.
I have a SSL for /cpanel/whm/webmail and have assigned them successfully so when a user goes to
domain.com/cpanel it redirects with no error or untrusted warning flag

It's when I go to the host name directly without the /cpanel/whm/webmail that I get the certificate error. I can't seem to install it on the hostname itself, even when using nobody as the username. The error message I receive isn't really much of an error as it is a success message... It states that the certificate is already installed and is now ready to use but when you click the link that the message gives you it states a certificate error. From Firefox: Secure Connection Failed An error occurred during a connection to server.domain.com. SSL received a record that exceeded the maximum permissible length. (Error code: ssl_error_rx_record_too_long) The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified. Please contact the website owners to inform them of this problem. Alternatively, use the command found in the help menu to report this broken site. 0 -
For installing SSL certificate on the hostname you should use WHM => Service Configuration => Manage Service SSL Certificates. 0 -
Feel free to open a support ticket using the link in my signature if you want us to take a closer look. You can post the ticket number here so we can update this thread with the outcome. Thank you. 0 -
The resolution was the "main_domain" name was different than the host name. Changing the main domain name to match the hostname will allow the SSL to be installed and used correctly. 0 -
