backup error?
Coming across the following backup error on 3 different accounts:
What is the .tsb folder? Ive looked through other accounts, and do not see this folder there, only in the 3 accounts that are causing the error. I've searched this forum and can not find anything on .tsb either. Permissions show as follows: Group: username Owner: username Permissions: 1341 Inside the .tsb folder, looks to be some kind of sessions file.. with 0 bytes... 1 account has 1 file, another account has 2 files, and the 3rd account has 0 files. The 2 accounts with sess files in them all show as 0 B and have no information on them, The error above was retrieved from the backup logs file.
One or more files in the home directory were not readable and were not copied. Please review the home directory upon completion of transfer
Error(s) encountered in tar during archiving:
/home/username/.tsb: Unable to open directory: Permission denied at /usr/local/cpanel/scripts/pkgacct line 1721.

You might check creation dates on those files and then have a closer look at your sites and logs for clues. And then kill the files to satisfy your backups working as expected. 0 -
Hello :) I believe the ".tsb" directory is associated with the Trendy Site Builder application. You could likely delete that directory if it's an application that you no longer use. Thank you. 0 -

There are actually a few of our clients that use Trendy, But why wouldnt root have permission to access it when automated backups are in progress? Is it okay to change the permissions so that root can access it? Im not sure what permissions are for 1341. Also, when that error comes up, does that stop all backups from running? Or does it just skip that folder but keeps all the rest for those specific accounts?0 -
The message indicates that directory was skipped. The account itself should have still backed up. The backup process runs as the cPanel user whose data is backed up. Anything a user cannot access is not backed up. Thank you. 0
