cant change dns in go daddy
Hi all
hoping someone an help me please, i have a reseller hosting acct with hostgator and a clients website i have just finished is registered at go daddy.
I have created a new account in WHM and believe i have everything set up correctly at that end but when i go into the clients account on godaddy i find i cant change the nameservers.
When i add the custom nameservers : ns1.ourweb-hosting.info ns2.ourweb-hosting.info i get errors saying i must enter a registered nameserver. I have changed DNS settings just fine on another website so i dont understand the issue, can anyone explain what i need to do?
thanks

Hello :) Make sure you register the name servers at the registrar before attempting to use them for a website. Documentation on how to do this is available at: How to register private name servers Thank you. 0 -
Hey thanks for helping, our name servers are registered thru the registrar, I have successfully added and repointed a domain from original hosts to our own private nameservers with no errors before this so I don't understand why godaddy does not recognise them 0 -
You may need to contact GoDaddy's support team to determine why they are not recognizing those name servers when you attempt to use them in the registrar administrative panel. Thank you. 0 -

I do not see a registrar administrative panel in the godaddy account, i have just logged in to godaddy and clicked on the domain thats been purchased through them and i went into the nameservers section. I see another section saying "host names" and i tried inputting our hosting x2 ip address in there which was over 2 days ago and still it does not let me change the nameservers0 -
Yes, by registrar administrative panel I am referring to the location within GoDaddy where you update/modify your name servers. Have you contacted their support for assistance? 0 -
I have asked the client to contact them and to ask them to see what the issue is, i really appreciate your time Michael though so thanks. [COLOR="silver">- - - Updated - - - I will update this post though if i find any information out for others who have the same issue in the future 0 -
In the DNS Manager, you can use the Zone File Editor to add, edit, and delete zone file records for your domain names registered with us, registered elsewhere and hosted with us, or registered elsewhere and using our DNS (Off-site DNS). 0 -

Could you elaborate on what option you are referring to? Are you speaking of a specific domain registrar? Thanks.0
