Installing Perl Modules
I am encountering problems installing some Perl modules via cPanel.
I have installed a number of modules but some try to install and just fail.
This is a report of the latest failure from 'cpanm/build.log'
Is this a cPanel problem or could it be that the module installer files are sometimes not as well prepared as others?

cPanel simply uses CPAN to install Perl modules, so this is not likely to be a problem with cPanel itself. While installing modules from CPAN is usually reliable, sometimes there is a problem with a particular module as published to CPAN. Did you try looking at the log file it mentions? It may contain more specific information about why it failed: FAIL Installing HTML::HTMLDoc failed. See /home/studioso/.cpanm/build.log for details.0 -
Also, it appears that you are trying to install the module in cPanel. Have you tried installing the same module as root in the WebHost Manager? 0 -
I take it the replies are being moderated, very confusing when you are used to messages appearing instantly. I won't repeat what was in the last reply, just that I have tried what you suggested and all was going well until the very end when it just failed [QUOTE]Installing /usr/local/share/man/man3/PDF::API2::Basic::PDF::Null.3pm Installing /usr/local/share/man/man3/PDF::API2::Basic::PDF::Objind.3pm Installing /usr/local/share/man/man3/PDF::API2::Resource::CIDFont::CJKFont.3pm Appending installation info to /usr/lib/perl5/perllocal.pod OK Successfully installed PDF-API2-2.021 Installing /usr/local/share/perl5/i386-linux-thread-multi/.meta/PDF-API2-2.021/install.json Installing /usr/local/share/perl5/i386-linux-thread-multi/.meta/PDF-API2-2.021/MYMETA.json ! It is a pity that it bails out and clears all of the modules, I could manage to manually add a few but in this module, PDF::FromHTML, there are far to many dependencies for a manual installation.0 -
There are quite a few errors with module tidy.xs and the log suggests [QUOTE]Retry with --prompt or --force.
Could someone explain what that means please.0
