Running cPanel on Amazon EC2 using VPS Optimized

I am trying to find out if cPanel licensing supports the VPS optimized version for the Amazon EC2 cloud. I would like to move off my current vps and the pricing for EC2 is comparable when paired with the VPS license but is more expensive when I have to purchase a full license. Anyone done this and have some feedback or can cPanel sales confirm that this can be done.
